Events
The goal of the NHF is to teach and promote the arts of hapkido, hankido and hankumdo in all its forms. To do this every year the NHF organizes a whole scale of seminars and other events where those who are interested can learn about the three HKD's.
HKD intensives
The HKD intensives are quarterly seminars with a very open character. Anyone who is interested in learning about Hankido and Hankumdo is welcome to these seminars. As the word intensive already makes clear, the trainings are very extensive. Both beginners and advanced students of Hankido and Hankumdo are welcome to join the two hours of Hankido and two hours of Hankumdo traininig.
The intensives are free for NHF members, non-members have to pay a small fee.
Federation days
Twice a year our federation organizes a get-together for all members of the NHF. In the spring there is a get-together for the adult members and in the fall the youngsters get their chance. These federation days are only for NHF members.
Yudanja training
Yudanja is the Korean word for someone who has at least one dan-grade in a martial art. Every two months members of the NHF who already have a dan-grade or those who are about to test for their first degree black belt. Before a member of the NHF can take his or her dan test, he or she is required to attend a minimum amount of these training sessions.
Instructor course
Every two months instructors of the NHF together with their assistants get together to train together and to exchange their ideas. Instructors with a minimum rank of 2nd dan can obtain official IHF recognition for their school and become official licensed IHF instructors.
Seminars
Technical supervisor of the NHF is Master Ko Baek Yong (9th dan) from Korea. Every two years Master Ko visits the Netherlands and other European countries to teach Hankido and Hankumdo. In recent years Master Ko was always accompanied by his son Master Ko Sehwan (5th dan). During these visits one or more open seminars will take place with people from all over Europe coming to these seminars.
Korea trips
The NHF offers members and non-members the opportunity to travel to Korea on a training trip. The main goal of these trips is of course to train in Hankido and Hankumdo. Three to four times a day you will be training under Master Ko Baek Yong's supervision. During the weekends there will be time to enjoy Korea's fascinating culture.
