Since 1983 the Dutch HKD Federation (NHF) officialy represents the IHF in the Netherlands. Our headquarters and modern training facilities are located centrally in IJsselstein.
The technical staff of the NHF is supervised by master Ko Baek Yong (9th dan). Ko sabunim regulary visits the Dutch schools and almost every year, people from the NHF visit his dojang in Incheon, Korea.
The NHF was offically founded in 1995. Before that it was known as the Hapkido Bond Nederland. The HBN was founded by master Robert Pellikaan (7th dan) in 1979. In 1983 Master Pellikaan was appointed by Kooksanim Myung Jae Nam as the official representative for the IHF for the Netherlands. After Master Pellikaan emigrated to New Zealand in 1993, Tijmen de Heus officialy became the IHF chairman and Leon de Heus (6th dan) the NHF head instructor.
The NHF offers her members an extensive training program. Every six months the NHF organizes a Hapkido festival at one of the NHF schools. Members have free access to these festivals and other NHF seminars.
Every two months our instructors have a special training, and there are monthly special trainings for black belts and those who will have their black belt exam in the next year or those who are training for their next dan.
